Friday Brunch | Oak Room Abu Dhabi

Experience world class ingredients with British rock ‘n roll flair.” Oak Room Abu Dhabi

Oak Room Abu Dhabi is the capital’s sophisticated steakhouse with a touch of rock and roll and a menu of classic British cuisine. With acclaimed Michelin starred chef Tom Aikens behind the brand you know you are in for a treat and the best cuts for those who enjoy a steak. Friday Brunch is a relaxed, three-hour affair that offers a mix of shared and individual dishes paired with cocktails and fine wines.

Course after course of signature British dishes are served to the table starting with the restaurant’s delicious home baked sourdough served with marmite butter. The selection of shared starters included a caesar salad, prawn cocktail, beef carpaccio, kale and cashew salad and house made ricotta with heritage tomatoes and aged balsamic.

Diners then choose their main course and two accompanying sides. Our mains were the USDA tenderloin and a rather surprisingly tasty salt baked celeriac with macadamia nuts and parmesan, I’ve never had that dish before and it was unexpectedly good. We chose sides of steamed broccoli, green beans, asparagus and triple cooked chips with truffle and parmesan. All mains also come with a house salad and fries so there really is so much food.

For an additional fee (AED 100 per dish) those who are feeling extra fancy can upgrade their experience with the signature grills option of Sanchoku wagyu striploin grade 7+ or split lobster with buttered asparagus.

As we were at the Easter themed Friday Brunch we were served a pre-dessert cocktail, the Easter Egg which was a heady whiskey and cream combination. Desserts were served to share, white chocolate eggs filled with Eton Mess (minus any meringue which was odd as it’s usually the staple ingredient), crème brulee, sticky toffee pudding and a cheese board. The Easter theme continued with a chocolate-laden trolley that made its way from table to table treating guests to pick ‘n’ mix style treats.

As there were Espresso martinis on the menu it felt like the right thing to do to finish with those. This is a refined brunch experience, good quality food served in an elegant dining room and despite being a steakhouse accommodates vegetarians alongside all the meaty options. Excellent service, an old school playlist and free-flowing drinks ensure guests have the best experience. Definitely one for your ‘to-do’ list if you prefer a table brunch.
