“Hyatt hotels cater to the individual traveller seeking indigenous experiences.” Hyatt
The panoramic 18° Restaurant at the iconic Hyatt Capital Gate has launched a new Friday Brunch that’s perfect for those who prefer a more understated affair and wish to avoid huge buffets on offer throughout the capital.
Taking things back to basics, in what we Brits traditionally define as brunch (late breakfast/early lunch), the a la carte menu offers breakfast to kick start your experience. Eggs any style can be ordered with breakfast favourites like bacon, hash browns, tomatoes, smoked salmon and avocado. Crepes and waffles are also available with a selection of sweet toppings. Give your breakfast an extra kick with a freshly made Bloody Mary from the cocktail bar or a glass of fizz.
A Mediterranean inspired buffet featuring fresh salads, cured meats, cheese and breads can be combined with oysters served tableside from the trolley. The main course a la carte menu is heavily seafood orientated with a variety of dishes such as Fregola soup with prawns, clams, mussels and calamari, marinated jasmine tea salmon, crab cakes and scallops to name a few.
Meat lovers are also catered for with such favourites as Florentine steak and Duck Leg confit. The vegetarian options were sadly disappointing with only one pasta dish, mascarpone spaghetti. Special requests can be made to the chefs and I supplemented the selection with a pizza cooked to order.
A large dessert buffet featured such delights as red velvet cake, a tower of profiteroles, fresh fruits and ice creams, which were all rather tempting. The pungent cheese room is well stocked with a variety of European hard and soft cheeses accompanied by the more unusual white port.
Whatever your food preference, sit back and relax and enjoy the sophisticated restaurant’s free flowing brunch bubbles and soundtrack of mellow jazz. Nowhere else in the world can you dine in a venue that leans 18 Degrees westwards with its elevated vantage point affording you a unique view from the world’s furthest leaning building.
