The UAE has such a large fitness community that offers so many different opportunities that it can get a tad overwhelming. Guavapass, the monthly online membership is revolutionising how and where you choose to work out and now the online pass, that has been a resounding success in Dubai, has been rolled out to Abu Dhabi*.
GuavaPass takes the stress out of organising your fitness routine, the one stop membership allows you to search facilities, book classes, try something completely new or manage your existing workout schedule with ease. For a monthly fee GuavaPass members have access to an extensive community of premium fitness studios and facilities in the capital offering unlimited classes as well as exclusive events with wellness experts and a range of GuavaPerks from healthy living partners across the region.
Founded in Singapore back in 2015 GuavaPass (similar to ClassPass in America) was created to change the way people organise their fitness routines and pursue a healthier lifestyle. Abu Dhabi members also have access to classes even when travelling with thousands of classes available in ten other cities; Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Beijing, Jakarta, Manila, Seoul, Shanghai and Taipei with even more locations coming soon.
Signing up to GuavaPass is quick and simple, after creating an online profile and confirming billing information you starting booking classes immediately. The Abu Dhabi monthly AED 499 membership is automatically renewed every thirty days and there are literally hundreds of classes available at the touch of a button on the app or via your desktop. You can pause your membership if you are going on holiday or pick up an injury, everything you need about membership, billing and classes is fully explained in the FAQ section of the website (click here).
Popular Abu Dhabi facilities like Bodytree Studio, Bounce, MProve Fitness, The Hot House and Vogue Fitness are all available on GuavaPass amongst many others throughout the capital. Members are restricted to visiting any facility a maximum of three times per month and cancellations must be made up to twelve hours before your chosen class to avoid cancellation and no-show fees. Classes can be booked up to an hour before they start so members have the flexibility to make decisions when motivation strikes, the recommendation feature can be utilised to find and book classes based on location, interests and times.
Last week I was invited to attend one of the GuavaPass exclusive events, an early morning yoga class with Bodytree Studio at the beautiful Saadiyat Beach Club here in Abu Dhabi. The event, which was part of the So Chic designer shopping and fitness event, was an hour-long blissful beachside hatha flow class with Bodytree yoga instructor Isabelle. Later that afternoon there was also a fifty minute Bombshell Bootcamp, a high intensity circuit training class for the more enthusiastic participants.
Everything from yoga to parkour, cycling to pole dancing, kangoo jumps to rock climbing is included and pretty much everything in between.
