Popular Dubai party bar Lock, Stock & Barrel has finally made its debut in Abu Dhabi at the newly opened waterfront at Yas Bay. Known as a live music venue and for its raucous brunches it will be good to see it fully functioning once Covid restrictions are lifted.
The large retro, industrial style bar has indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the water, a live music stage and an open kitchen. It’s also the place to watch live sports with a pint if that’s your thing. The news that their roasts will be appearing on their menu soon is most appealing.
We have been a few times already and while the service has been a bit iffy at times, the food has been generally good (minus the unimaginative Brookie, a dry crumbled brownie and cookie combo served in a glass). Their best dish is definitely their flatbread, a choice of six varieties that cover all dietary needs, they are not only huge but also tasty. Those with a BIG appetite can try the one meter flatbread (AED 300) that’s sectioned into four flavours; margherita, four cheese, buffalo chicken and hot stuff.
My family, who love chicken wings, approve of their selection which come as six or twelve pieces or a sampler with two each of the five flavours and a selection of sauces. Expect the usual pub grub style food of burgers, tacos, nachos, calamari, fish and chips, ribs and plenty of sides. The drinks selection is top notch as you would expect and there’s daily drinks and food deals which are always a crowd pleaser.
The Absolutely Barrelled *Saturday* Brunch (1pm – 4pm) promises lots of fun, food and beverages for just AED 250 per person (house drinks package). Keep an eye out for their roasts and live music schedule starting soon. It’s a casual dining spot so if you are looking for a more fine dining experience then head to Pier 71 also located at Yas Bay.
