“Pick up your Chopsticks, it’s Japanese Night at Cho Gao Marina Walk.” Intercontinental Abu Dhabi
Calling all sushi lovers, Wednesday night is now Japanese Night at Cho Gao Marina Walk located on the lower ground floor of the Intercontinental Abu Dhabi. With the combination of a Japanese buffet and a la carte dishes the weekly Taste of Japan night offers plenty of authentic delights for all tastes.
The well-presented buffet is filled with a variety of fresh nigiri, sushi, sashimi and maki rolls along with six different salads, miso soup and a tempting array of desserts such as green tea cheesecake, strawberry steamed cake and mochi for those who still have room. A la carte dishes include miso cod, beef ramen, tempura udon, chicken katsu, beef teriyaki and vegetarian options of edamame, veggie sushi and tempura vegetables. Specially crafted sake based cocktails such as the Samurai Chokoreto Sazerac (Japanese whisky, chocolate and vanilla liqueur with dry sake) and Saketini Furasuko (a combination of Saika and rock plum sake).
Cho Gao meaning ‘rice market’ in Vietnamese, is a large restaurant with four distinct areas decorated to fully embrace the Japanese theme with authentic decor, artefacts and even a fish-shaped ice sculpture. The main dining area has high, low and booth seating that takes up the majority of the space. The dedicated sushi bar, where the buffet is displayed, offers guests the chance to watch the chefs at work, the lounge area is home to the resident DJ and of course the waterfront outdoor terrace with marina views that’s perfect for alfresco drinking and dining.
