Who fancies an Italian fine-dining brunch at affordable prices served all weekend long? Now you can enjoy a flexible a la carte European style affair exclusively at Roberto’s Abu Dhabi every Friday and Saturday in this contemporary restaurant located below the Rosewood hotel in The Galleria Mall.

This reworked ‘Brunch’ concept is throwing things back to what we traditionally know as brunch outside the UAE, long and relaxed breakfasts that are served well into the afternoon. Available all weekend long from 9am – 4pm this family friendly concept offers a comprehensive selection of dishes individually priced, children under six eat free and have their own entertainment area so parents can relax.

Award winning Italian Executive Chefs Francesco and Andrea and their team have created an extensive menu from pastries through to a full English, mains, sharing dishes and desserts. Freshly baked oversized filled Danish pastries, croissants, muffins and my personal favourite cinnamon rolls from the in-house bakery with Italian coffee were a good start to proceedings. We followed the sweet delights with yogurt, fruit and homemade granola and an indulgent scrambled egg topped with freshly shaved truffle.

While we waited for our next course a bonus dish of the most tasty pea risotto arrived, fresh and authentic with a peas and lime, I just wish I could have eaten more. Next up we sampled the smashed avocado on toast with perfectly poached eggs (a rare thing in the UAE) and wagyu short rib served on sweet potato mash, not only was the food delicious but also beautifully presented. As we were so full we declined a dessert but we treated to a mascarpone and nutella folded pizza, a calorific surprise that was too good to leave so we boxed it and took if home.

Roberto’s here in the capital is such a lovely place to dine. Roberto, Kristen and their team are attentive and friendly and the food is quite simply divine. Whether you fancy a bowl of authentic Italian pasta and oysters at 9am or eggs benedict at 3pm served with a coffee, beer or bubbles, the flexible brunch concept has got you covered.

Savoury dishes, eggs any style, french tiramisu toast and so many pastries it’s hard to resist, the varied menu has great choices for vegetarians, meat eaters and young diners alike. Another bonus you can eat as much or as little as you like without paying a set price and of course you must remember calories don’t count on the weekend.
