The Rosewood Abu Dhabi has re-launched its Friday Brunch, a garden themed concept for the post-summer brunching season, as part of the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts global A Sense of Taste culinary programme. The Rosewood Garden Brunch presents an array of international flavours and premium beverages with regional inspiration from the hotel’s UAE location.
It’s well documented on this site that my least favourite brunches are those held in all-day dining restaurants, but Aqua, the third floor elegant dining destination at the Rosewood Abu Dhabi is a cut above the rest. The Garden Brunch is an epicurean experience that takes brunchers on a gourmet journey around the globe via an array of live outdoor cooking stations.
Fresh, locally sourced ingredients are key with various stations offering Italian, Indian and Arabic dishes as well as Asian, oysters, sushi and even a shawarma station. Inside there’s fresh seafood, salads, carvery and make your own mini bagels station situated around the show kitchen. Vegetarian options are good with plenty of hot and cold choices. The Garden Brunch is a family friendly affair with a special Rose Buds menu for children and dedicated, supervised playroom with plenty of games to keep the children amused while the adults sit back and relax.
Bespoke cocktails can be ordered from the jovial bartenders at the large outdoor bar, choose from freshly made mojitos, raspberry gin and free-flowing bubbles as well as plenty of beers and wine served to the table. Now let’s talk desserts, I made a beeline for the outdoor crepe and gelato stand with crepes are made to order while you wait, I recommend the Nutella filled crepe topped with caramel ice-cream. Satisfy your sweet tooth from the ample choice of miniature brunch style sweet treats and fresh fruit that are set-up indoors around the restaurant entrance. Finish with some cheese from the large selection centrally presented in the show kitchen.
Diners may be spoilt for choice but not overwhelmed which I much prefer to the larger over-the-top brunches, quality over quantity is paramount at Aqua. Besides the wide selection of dishes on the offer, the top feature of this brunch is dining on Aqua’s delightful outdoor waterfront terrace with city views. It is an all-day dining restaurant but it’s a stylish one with well-presented selections that make it a good brunch contender for families and all-adult parties too.
