“Luxury Redefined.” Rixos Premium Dubai
There’s a new five star hotspot at Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) and it’s one to watch. Rixos Premium Dubai, part of the AccorHotels group, is an exciting new beachfront hotel that opened at the end of last month giving visitors a ultra modern place to stay and dine in this popular and ever expanding area of Dubai.

This thirty-five storey luxurious hotel has 414 luxury rooms and suites that benefit from a contemporary design and are fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology. First impressions are good as you enter Dubai’s newest hotel, an appealing light filled spacious lobby greets you filled with plants, fresh flowers and low level seating. The lobby splits off into two areas, the reception and concierge desks and the open-plan stylish and colourful 24-hour casual Crystal Lounge that overlooks the beach club below.

Our room was beautiful, completely modern with touches of bright coloured textiles and floor-to-ceiling windows that offered spectacular views of the pool, beach and Arabian Gulf below. Extremely spacious and well thought out, the room was dominated by the centralised comfortable king-size bed that was flanked on either side by different coloured hanging glass lights. A plush velvet window seat ran the full width of the room, there was also a large TV, a vanity unit and plenty of storage.

The golden Arabic lattice design glass walled bathroom had a freestanding bathtub, separate walk-in shower and toilet, elegant miniature toiletries were provided by leading luxury brand Chopard. In-room dining options are plentiful, the menu itself designed to replicate the hotel towers.

While still in its soft-opening phase the dining options are somewhat limited but the lobby will soon be home to a variety of dining and retail spaces once they open later this year. Popular venues such as NYC craft beer and burger joint Black Tap, lively music and sports bar Lock Stock & Barrel, Dubai’s first STK American steakhouse and Italian fine-dining restaurant Luigia’s will see guests spoilt for choice.
The hotel will also be home to nightclub Inner City Zoo and retail outlets Rodeo Drive, Via Rodeo and Ocean Drive. For now dining options include the aforementioned Crystal Lounge that offers light bites, pastries, cakes and drinks, all-day dining affair Turquoise that’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and Asian dishes at Azure Beach.

While I’m not the biggest fan of all-day dining restaurants, the Turkish inspired Turquoise was better than most I’ve sampled with such a huge range of options all perfectly presented. The huge restaurant offers plentiful seating across two boldly decorated areas. In homage to the Rixos brand the team of talented Turkish chefs offer many traditional sweet and savoury dishes alongside international favourites. There’s a dedicated sushi counter as well as plenty of vegetarian and healthier options.

There’s the largest range of honey soaked baklava I’ve ever seen made by a dedicated baklava chef and lots of grilled meats, kebabs, simit (circular Turkish bread), bowls of colourful Turkish delight and fresh honeycomb.
Like the restaurants and shops coming soon to the lobby both the spa and beach club are outsourced. In-house hotel guests are given passes to use the private Mediterranean inspired Azure Beach Club that has a prime position on JBR’s shoreline. The large beach club overlooks the Emirate’s latest tourist attraction, Ain Dubai (the world’s largest observation wheel that’s currently still under construction) on Bluewaters Island.

Guests have use of the huge infinity pool with plenty of sunbeds, private island beds, group cabanas for up to eight people and a swim-up bar. Poolside dining is also offered with a family-friendly restaurant that serves an Asian fusion menu for both lunch and dinner inside or alfresco, there’s also a shisha terrace and a kids club. Day passes are also available for a daily charge at the beach club for non-hotel residents.

The Rixos brand is famous for its traditional Turkish hammam and the second floor spacious Natureland Spa Premium is no exception. The spa embraces the Turkish theme with its signature Ottoman hammam and authentic Turkish rituals. A full menu of body massages, body scrubs, facials, day spa rituals and VIP couples spa are all on offer. Active folk can work out at the state-of-the-art RixGym that has views over the gulf from its full length windows.

The hotel is perfectly positioned to explore JBR on foot. The Walk is opposite with its multiple retail, dining and nightlife options. The Beach next door has numerous shops, cafes, a cinema and offers watersports, a 600m running track and an outdoor gym. The Dubai Tram that connects to the Dubai Metro is nearby within walking distance and the marina is in close proximity that offers even more entertainment options.

Ideally suited for tourists and business travellers alike, the Rixos Premium Dubai is a perfect base to enjoy everything Dubai has to offer. It also offers residents a great getaway destination, I cannot wait to return after the summer to sample the new restaurants and the Turkish inspired treatments at the spa.
