Expat Life | Excuses, Excuses….

There are a thousand excuses for failure, but never a good reasonMark Twain

When I moved to Abu Dhabi from the UK back in 2009, I told myself it was a perfect opportunity to do some things that I have always wanted to do (or thought I should) but not had the time (or the inclination) as I was busy bringing up three children, working and generally living a somewhat hectic day-to-day lifestyle.

One of my main goals was to start a blog of my expat life as a Brit living abroad. The challenges faced moving to the UAE, leaving family and friends behind and also sharing all the good experiences of our new life with a little humour thrown in for good measure. So as I approach my four-year anniversary of living here on 1st September, I have run out of excuses so I thought I better crack on with at least one thing on my virtual list……my blog!

Other ideas of writing a best-selling novel, learning to swim, going to the gym everyday and having singing lessons can wait as after all this blog is going to fill my time, see even during the first post I am making more excuses…….

I hope you will enjoy coming on this journey with me. A journey filled with photos, some new and some from over the past four years. anecdotes of mine and my families little desert adventure, new friends we have met along the way, the ups and downs, the highs and lows and my ‘top fives’ will be added in along the way

No more excuses…….it’s really happening!
