“A great time knows no age.” Topgolf
Looking for a fun thing to do with friends or family? Look no further than Topgolf, the high-tech golf game located next to Dubai’s Emirates Golf Club.
You don’t have to be the next Tiger Woods or dedicate four hours to walk around a golf course, Topgolf is the game for everyone regardless of golfing prowess or experience. Set over three floors, the state-of-the-art facility has ninety-six hitting bays that can each accommodate up to six players. The bays are climate controlled, background music is provided by an upbeat (some may say cheesy) playlist and there’s in-situ food and beverage options.

Friendly bay hosts are on-hand to help you set up, resolve any queries and extend game play if desired. The hosts also serve any food and drinks order to your private bay which is great. The booking process is efficient and painless, prices are reasonable with new players charged an additional one-off AED 20 membership fee. Bays fees are charged hourly rather than per person with unlimited balls so you can play as many games as possible in your allotted time. There’s a variety of games to choose from with different skill levels and competitive options. Racks of mens and ladies clubs are provided in each bay (kids clubs available on request).
The interactive driving range is a tech lovers dream with the microchipped golf balls registering all shots and scores. Balls sunk into the large holes earns points, the closer the ball lands to the pin the higher the score and more points are gained for the holes furthest away. Bay screens show every shot with the accuracy, distance and points gained if you want to see how well, or badly, you are playing. It may take a few shots to get into your groove or like me you start strong and then annoyingly go downhill rapidly.
Other onsite activities include the Topgolf Academy, the Bunker a 9-hole mini golf & arcade and there’s also a well-stocked pro-shop. You can even pimp up your business lunch with a two-course lunch and an hour of Topgolf available Sunday until Thursday from 11am – 5pm for AED 150 per person.
While Topgolf is already popular worldwide this is the first entertainment venue of its kind in this region. The slick, well organised facility certainly has the wow factor with stunning views of the Dubai Marina skyline, especially at sunset. It’s not all about the golf as alongside the bay menu there’s also onsite restaurants and bars. The Yard, a lively sports bar, offers live music, sport on multiple screens, an American inspired menu, daily happy hours and an outdoor terrace. The Loft on the top Level offers great views, American dishes and handcrafted drinks.
If you like bowling with your friends and family, Topgolf will give you a similar level of enjoyment. Equally if you are a fan of the traditional driving range, Topgolf will enhance your usual experience. We had a great time and I highly recommend a visit, my top tip is to book a top level bay for the best views.
