“All women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy. No man does. That’s his.” Oscar Wilde
It’s Mother’s Day this weekend, a special day to celebrate the woman that raised you. The annual tradition acknowledges the role of mothers in society and is celebrated this year on Saturday 21st March (UAE) and Sunday 22nd March (UK). In America, Mother’s Day is celebrated in May, the origins of this day come from a lady named Anna Jarvis who campaigned after the loss of her own beloved mother to make Mother’s Day a recognised holiday.
While consumerism may have taken over the sentiment remains the same, a special day to show your gratitude. Here’s some ideas to spoil your mum with a special gift or experience (coronavirus restrictions allowing).
