“Nestled in the creative Melbourne Arts Precinct.” Quay West Suites Melbourne
With a five-star Booking.com rating, spacious suites and a great location in the heart of the city’s Commercial Business District (CBD) Quay West Suites Melbourne, part of the Accor Hotels group, was an obvious choice for the first part of the Melbourne leg of our trip.
As we were only in the city for four nights the hotel’s Southbank location on the Yarra River was perfect to explore the city on foot and by tram in a limited time. Flinders Street Station, Hosier Lane, Federation Square and Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) all within a short walking distance across nearby Princes Bridge. The tram stop is just over the bridge where you can hop on trams that take you all over the city with the purchase of a Myki card. We took the tram to St. Kilda and back from this central stop and you can ride to Brunswick and further afield easily.
This fully serviced five-star suite-hotel offered everything we needed for a comfortable city vacation. We stayed in a very spacious and modern two bedroom self-contained deluxe suite with king and twin rooms, two bathrooms, large lounge and dining areas, fully equipped kitchen (plus an additional kitchenette in the second room) and balcony with city skyline views. The suite also had a washing machine and dryer ideal for families and those with longer travel plans.
Facilities include the Jarrah restaurant that offers a buffet style hot and cold breakfast served daily as well as an international menu offering seasonal cuisine for lunch and dinner. Jarrah bar has an indoor area and outdoor terrace with views of the Melbourne CBD skyline. There’s a heated indoor 15m magnesium salt lap pool, spa, sauna and fitness centre.
Just below the hotel are a selection of waterfront restaurants and bars located on the Southbank Promenade along the river to suit all tastes and budgets. The huge Crown casino is a short stroll away in the Crown hotel and more restaurants, bars and the city’s shopping district are just across the Yarra Pedestrian Bridge. Popular Melbourne bar Arbory Afloat with its distinct stripped parasols sits on the opposite bank, a great weekend brunch and sundowner spot.
Quay West Suites Melbourne is an excellent apartment-style hotel for families on long or short trips, groups of friends and for business travellers with a range of flexible accommodation to suit all party sizes. The location along Southbank Promenade gives guests an ideal location from which to explore the city and Melbourne’s top attractions on foot.
