“The Linda Meredith skincare range was developed to deal with skin problems and not skin types.” Linda Meredith Skincare
The ‘Queen of Facials’, Linda Meredith has recently launched her range of British skincare treatments and products here in the UAE. Having worked in the beauty industry for over forty years, Meredith is a facials expert and her reputation has earned her a star studded client list with the likes of celebrities, such as Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law to name a few as well as royalty, all patronising her Knightsbridge salon in London.
Now you too can now get the A-lister treatment right here in the capital with the range of Linda Meredith facials and products available exclusively at the multi-award winning Emirates Palace Spa. The treatments and whole skincare range focus on increasing the skin’s hydration levels using essential ingredients to feed the skin and slow down the aging process whilst eradicating the everyday effects of chemicals, preservatives and hormones.
I’m always excited to try something different and the V-Tox Oxygen facial, which is Meredith’s natural alternative to botox, seemed like a great one to try. Designed to smooth fine lines and relax the skin, the treatment combines the use of V-Tox cream, a botanical algae derivative, with the infusion of medical grade oxygen into the skin. The Emirates Palace spa is the first and only place in the UAE to offer this treatment along with three other signature Linda Meredith facials; The Haute Couture, The Oxygen Facial and The Collagen & Hyaluronic Facial.
The Experience ~ I tried the 75 minute V-Tox Oxygen Facial which began, as all the Emirates Palace spa treatments start, with a soothing foot treatment using lavender infused milk and fragrant rose petals. The facial itself was bespoke, my therapist the very lovely Tiffany, customised the treatment according to her analysis of my skin’s type, age and specific target areas once she had carried out the initial cleanse. In my particular treatment Tiffany used ten products as well as the oxygen and made decisions based on how my skin reacted during the different phases of the facial.
The Linda Meredith products not only smell fantastic (the aromas of lavender and papaya were wonderful) but also felt amazing on my skin. Tiffany was a skilful and knowledgeable therapist, chatting to me throughout the process with information about what she was using, the ingredients of each product and what the benefits were as well as her ongoing assessment of how my skin was reacting and changing.
My treatment focused on smoothing lines on different areas of my face as well as hydrating the whole area. A steady flow of oxygen is pumped onto the skin via a special wand at very close proximity, initially it’s an unusual feeling but not in the least bit uncomfortable. The V-Tox cream mimics the smoothing effects of Botox without having to inject toxins into your face, while the infusion of oxygen into the skin increases healthy cell regeneration, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
The results ~ The immediate results were clear to see, my whole face felt firmer and smoother, my skin looked healthy and hydrated with visibly reduced lines. My skin felt amazing for several days after the treatment and it’s definitely something to consider for anyone who wants visible results without having invasive cosmetic treatments. Obviously one facial is not life-changing and a course of six treatments in close succession is recommended to ensure the effects remain over a period of months.
Pros ~ I really enjoyed the experience from start to finish. Tiffany is an accomplished facialist, the best I have ever had in terms of delivering an all-round top notch client experience. She was welcoming, put me at ease immediately and was knowledgeable too, a very professional lady with excellent customer service skills. She talked me through the whole procedure and explained everything about the products and answered all my questions. The treatment can be continued at home with the Linda Meredith oxygen masks and V-Tox products available to purchase at the spa but as you would expect they are quite pricey.
Cons ~ The treatment is expensive, the V-Tox facial is a whopping AED 1225 for 75-minutes but as the old saying goes ‘You get what you pay for’. I was so impressed with the experience from start to finish that I would, funds allowing, definitely have it again.
Located in a standalone building within the beautiful grounds of the Emirates Palace hotel, the spacious two-storey luxury spa is a delightful mix of traditional Arabic design meets modern day treatments. Alongside the Linda Meredith treatments there is also a choice of Thalion, Forlle’d and renewal facials, a variety of massages, couples treatments and an extensive menu of signature treatments for both men and women including the unique 24 Carat Gold-Inspired Treatment. There’s also a traditional Moroccan Hammam, two Jacuzzis, steam rooms and even an ice cave.
There are five couples suites available, three spacious double spa suites with bathtubs, steam showers and grooming area, as well as two double spa rooms without the bath option. Complimentary skin and body analysis is also available to all guests alongside hair loss treatments, cool shaping, fat reduction and cellulite treatments as well as Just for Men packages.
I highly recommend the Emirates Palace Spa as a refined and stylish place to enjoy a very special experience whether it’s signature facial, massage or specific treatment. It’s the perfect place to relax, de-stress and enjoy being pampered by the professional team of therapists. If you are looking for a unique facial try the Linda Meredith V-Tox Oxygen treatment and witness for yourself the undeniable effects of a non-invasive alternative to botox.
