Long, lazy weekend breakfasts are one of my favourite things, you know the old school Brit definition of brunch, breakfast that lasts way into the afternoon. Enter The Breakfast Club, not the 80’s Brat Pack movie of the same name (one of my guilty pleasures incase you were wondering), but the latest offering from the guys at BU!
BU!, the multi-award winning Pan-Latin restaurant (you may also know it as BU! Trinity), located at The Hub on the fourth floor of the World Trade Center Mall is offering its new weekend breakfast concept every Saturday from 10am – 5pm. Think full English, stacks of light and fluffy pancakes dripping in duche de leche and chocolate sauces, fresh smoothies and organic eggs cooked any style.
As they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and BU! have dedicated a full seven hours to enjoy everything from granola to three types of tacos. The Latin influences come through in the full Mexican, the massive breakfast burrito, spicy huevos rancheros and even churros with hot chocolate sauce. If you’re a fan of spicy try the BU! Breakfast Bomb, a mix of scrambled eggs, beef bacon, cheese, avo and spices served like a burger in a slider bun.
Those with a sweet tooth should enjoy the French Toast served with poached pears and an indulgent butterscotch maple syrup, health conscious folk can rest assured that there’s plenty of choice for those counting their calories. Acai bowls, homemade organic granola and overnight soaked chia bowls are served alongside organic eggs with plenty of avocado. Have a bigger appetite? No problem, the Go Healthy is the lean version of the traditional full English accompanied by fresh juice and coffee. Those nursing a post Friday Brunch hangover can choose from a wide range of coffees or embrace the hair of the dog with The Recovery, BU!’s take on a bloody mary that comes with an optional shot of vodka (alcohol is an additional cost).
Shake off all those Friday shenanigans with a family breakfast at BU! every Saturday until 5pm. The menu is really varied, the portions are large, the food is tasty and the best bit, the prices are very reasonable. Try the avo on sourdough toast topped with feta followed by the pancakes, not only do they both taste super delicious but they are insta worthy too. Bring on the ‘winter’ weekends with alfresco breakfasts on the BU! terrace with fantastic views over the capital’s skyline.
