Tub of Butter | Dubai

As the early expression goes; landing in a tub of butter is a translation of someone falling into good fortune.” Tub of Butter

In this day and age of getting the perfect Instagram shot having a coffee with a celebrity in Dubai is the latest must have photo. Just to clarify Tub of Butter, located just off the Sheikh Zayed Road, is not offering guests actual celebrity meet-ups but instead their famous faces emblazoned in cappuccino and latte art. Celebrities both alive and dead make an appearance at the cafe; Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Drake, Bob Marley, Marilyn Monroe, Barack Obama and even Donald Trump are all available to name but a few. Just when you thought selecting your coffee was time-consuming enough now you have a list of celebrity faces to choose from and while you might think this is just the latest gimmick, my coffee was very good.

It doesn’t stop there, for an additional cost the Tub of Butter baristas can make a personalised stencil from your own photo so you can have your very own custom-made coffee art for the ultimate narcissistic social media post. The introduction of this unique coffee art at this homegrown UAE cafe has seen its popularity take a significant rise recently but this spacious casual dining venue has actually been open since December 2016 serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The self-titled ‘epicurean emporium’ offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu, that takes influence from one of the owners visits to Greece, customers can choose from hand crafted deli and bakery products, fresh juices, speciality coffees and teas. A well-stocked retail area jammed packed with artisanal products offers customers the opportunity to purchase goods to use in their own kitchens.

A menu of organic and healthy dishes are available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Freshly baked goods, Italian cold cuts and Mediterranean cheeses from the in-house cheesemonger are available from the deli section. A range of gourmet sandwiches, salads, signature pizzas cooked in the traditional on-site oven, pastas and rotisserie roasted chicken are also all available daily. The food is available for takeaway as well as dine-in and can also be delivered, catering platters can be ordered if you want to impress your guests at home or at corporate functions.

The retail area is a fine food marketplace offering customers a selection of gourmet jams, olive oils, balsamic vinegars, dried pastas and sugary treats from around the globe. Japanese tea blends, 23-carat gold truffle honey, diamond salt from Pakistan and Madagascan pepper are some of the more unusual products available to purchase. Tub of Butter also offers a customised gourmet hamper service where customers can select products to make up a bespoke gift.

This modern cafe, which takes its name from the expression ‘landed in a tub of butter’ meaning that you are lucky or have good fortune, is a stylish contemporary space that’s family friendly, there’s even a separate kids play area. Perfect for a tasty breakfast, a coffee date, lunch with the children or dinner with friends it’s divided into different areas with lounge and dining spaces lined with bold art, wooden crates, beautiful blue seating and comfy leather booths.

The popular breakfast menu is available until 11:30am on weekdays and until 2:30pm at weekends for that lazy Friday and Saturday treat of breakfast at a cafe which is one of my favourite things to do. I’m already planning who to immortalise in my next latte, Tub of Butter I will see you again soon for another celebrity coffee date 🙂
