A good hotel was hard to find in Munnar, surprisingly it seems that top quality properties are not sought after high in the mountains of Kerala’s tea country which I found surprising as there are so many foreign tourists.

As far as the eye can see, Munnar and the surrounding area is rolling hills of deep green tea plantations, rows and rows of immaculate tea plants in uniform lines that make for the most dramatic scenery.

To say we were both pretty excited about our trip to Kerala would be untrue, the other half was super excited but I was pretty anxious (did you know there are 238 species of snake in Kerala alone, 50 of which are poisonous eek!!).
