“The first day of Eid Al Fitr will be announced on Friday night, after the moon-sighting committee meets remotely to search for a new crescent moon.” The National
This year’s Eid al-Fitr celebrations are going to be a little different due to the ongoing effects of COVID-19. The Eid holiday, that marks that end of Ramadan, would usually be the time that Emiratis families gather to celebrate and we’d be preparing to maximise those extra days off with a trip somewhere. Due to flight and UAE re-entry restrictions we, like the majority of people, will be staying home this year.
A number of UAE hotels have implemented social distancing measures to ensure the safety and well-being of guests who want to indulge in a staycation. Partial easing of lockdown measures have been introduced in some Emirates however guests will have to adhere to the UAE’s nightly lockdown National Sterilisation Programme that restricts movement between 8pm – 6am. There are certainly some great deals to entice those looking for a change of scenery – here’s a selection of some the hotels that are welcoming guests this Eid.
