“Jubail Mangrove Park is the first self-contained educational, nature and leisure destination of its kind in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.” Jubail Mangrove Park
Abu Dhabi’s newest leisure attraction, Jubail Mangrove Park, opened at the end of January. A raised, winding, wooden boardwalk traverses the one million-square mangrove sanctuary that offers three different routes that vary in length, the longest being 2km. Various viewpoints, seating areas, a viewing tower and a floating rope platform give visitors the chance to view the park from various angles. The clear water makes it easy to glimpse tiny fish and crabs at high tide, you can also spot several species of birds that reside in the grey mangroves.
The UAE’s mangrove forests are protected ecological assets that are not only home to differing fauna and flora but also act as a water purification system and natural windbreak to protect the coast against tidal surges. The new park offers visitors the opportunity to explore and learn about the mangroves but in order to protect the wildlife the park closes daily at 6:30pm.
Crane Speciality Cafe and food truck offers beverages and food at the visitor centre with indoor seating, an outdoor terrace and bench seating, the cafe was overwhelmed with the amount of customers when we visited on opening weekend. The bathrooms are also located here as are the mangrove rangers, park entry is currently free and there’s plenty of parking too.
Jubail Mangrove Park is a great place to get outdoors for a winter stroll and connect with nature, this eco-tourism site is tidal so check the tide forecast (linked below) before visiting. Plan to visit at high tide for optimum viewing, it’s also particularly pretty at sunset.

Oh it looks lovely. Sad that I left the UAE before this was opened!
It’s good for a winter walk 😀
