ClassPass | Abu Dhabi

“ClassPass expands Middle Eastern footprint with launch in Abu Dhabi.” ClassPass

ClassPass, the global fitness app, officially launched in Abu Dhabi last week and celebrated in style yesterday with a flow yoga class atop of the world’s highest active helipad (just a mere 255 metres up in the sky) at the St. Regis Abu Dhabi.

ClassPass members from around the world now have access to participating fitness studios in the capital for a variety of activities such as yoga, Pilates, strength and wellness at some of the cities popular venues such as Fitness First, Bodytree Studios and The Hot House to name a few. ClassPass has taken over the operations of GuavaPass which has now been discontinued with users given the option to switch over to the new app.

While the ClassPass App is slightly more expensive than its predecessor it’s more flexible in that users are not restricted to only three sessions per month at any particular facility. ClassPass members receive credits that can be redeemed against classes which vary in credit value due to factors such as location, time, popularity and equipment.

The four different monthly packages range from AED 159 per month (25 credits) to AED 749 per month (130 credits) with the average class in Abu Dhabi costing 6 credits. For example a strength training class at Vogue Fitness is 8 credits, a swing yoga class at Inspire Sports is 5 credits and sessions at CRYO are a more hefty 25 credits per treatment. Class cancellation fees apply (check the t & c’s) within a certain time period and subscriptions can be paused at anytime.

The ClassPass app, which launched in New York in 2013, offers users over 17,000 fitness studios in fifteen countries worldwide. Following its successful launch in Dubai last October it’s now offering Abu Dhabi’s fitness fanatics the opportunity to create a customised workout schedule with a variety of classes at different gyms and studios through one app for a fixed monthly fee.Screen Shot 2019-04-03 at 20.45.46
