An exciting new venture opened today in Al Zeina, Abu Dhabi. In a first for the capital, LOCAL is a three-part concept offering a speciality coffee shop, a bespoke barbershop for top notch gentleman’s grooming and an exclusive sneaker consignment store. Born from a passionate interest in all three areas, this unique space is the brainchild of three young Abu Dhabi based entrepreneurs.
The three concepts exude their own distinctive style but rather than separate independent stores they are all housed under one roof. Each one offers the highest service and premium products that will have customers coming back time and time again. A team of highly trained and enthusiastic baristas await you at LOCAL designer coffee shop with it’s cool and bright interior and attention to detail.
LOCAL will be serving Seven Fortunes coffee sourced from the homegrown roastery in Dubai, a range of premium beverages and an organic menu with a choice of paninis, wraps and baked goods all available for dine-in or takeaway. This is not your usual high street and mall coffee shop experience, it’s about offering high-quality coffee for those connoisseurs amongst us as well as those who want to pop in for their daily latte. It aims to give the consumer something different like the ever-growing independent speciality coffee scenes in London, New York and Melbourne.
With an already established clientele from their temporary home in Cobra Fitness, LOCAL barbershop provides traditional barbering in a state-of-the-art space in the centre of the store. This is not simply about getting a haircut and beard trim, it’s an experience that far exceeds anything on offer in the capital right now. Both Fazz and Chrissy are experienced British barbers who have already made their mark on the UAE scene with highly successful pop-ups at Manarat Al Saadiyat, the Abu Dhabi Coffee Festival and also in Dubai.
A full range of services are on offer, from the regular trim to the more specialised skin fade, full cut-throat shave and boys cuts. Customers can also purchase a full range of premium hair and beard products and enjoy a complimentary coffee with each cut.
If you know, you know when it comes down to the ‘hidden’ consignment store at the rear of the space that opens at the end of next month. Sneakers are a passion at LOCAL. The space will offer niche products; a range of high-end, exclusive sneakers and streetwear as well as a showcase of the latest trends and collaborations between luxury brands and street and casual sportswear labels. If you’re into sneaker and street culture this is the spot for you. The store will provide a new retail experience in the capital as well as a service for customers who currently have to ship goods from abroad as they cannot source them here in the UAE. There is also a range of LOCAL merchandise for sale including t-shirts and tote bags.
LOCAL holds many meanings but fundamentally it’s about supporting the ‘local’ neighbourhood and community and in turn LOCAL sources and supports independent regional businesses and suppliers. LOCAL is a lifestyle concept not just a place for coffee, cuts and sneakers, it’s an experience where you can hang out and socialise with friends and family. This is not your standard coffee shop, male grooming service or retail experience, this is LOCAL, and quite simply it’s raising the bar.
