“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” Edgar Degas
For this week’s Photo Challenge, bloggers were asked “stimulate your creative process and imagine which of your images you would like to see gracing the cover of a book, an album, or a magazine. Would the image inspire us to take a peek through the pages, listen to the music, or buy a ticket to the show? Would it strike a chord with viewers, making them reflect on or revisit memories of places, people, and experiences?”
I have used a photo taken at Manarat Al Saadiyat gallery here in Abu Dhabi of an art installation of all different types of chairs. This large chair interactive sculpture (you can walk inside and look up and around) encourages you to think where are the chairs from? Who were their owners and what is their history before their finished up at the gallery? Who has sat on them and the purpose they served in what situation? Each chair has its own story and journey.
