We have also been on some fantastic short-haul trips during the Eid breaks after Ramadan, so I thought I would share three of the fantastic places we have visited as we approach that time of year again, either just a drive or short flight away from Abu Dhabi.

One of our dinner destinations last week was Smoking Doll, the South East Asian restaurant that serves a specialised menu of traditional Asian fused cuisine, with a focus on Thai food from its two distinctive and aesthetic pleasing venues at Nation Towers and Reem Island here in the capital.
