Namak | Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi

Indulge in an exquisite dining experience showcasing the different regions of India.” Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi

There’s even more reason to visit Namak located at the Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi this month as they are participating in Dining & Nightlife Middle East’s Restaurant Month dining extravaganza.

Namak, the colourful restaurant that showcases rich and diverse regional Indian cuisine, is offering an affordable three-course menu as part of the month long promotion*. Unique dishes feature on the special menu so even if you are a regular visitor there’s something new to try.

With both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options on the menu offers there’s something for everyone. We were welcomed with drinks served along with some baked bread strips served and a trio of dips. Things got off to a flamboyant start with a giant crispy kachori chaat served sharing style on a bed of dry ice. Chaat, a popular street food from North India, combines ingredients with punchy flavours and textures in a dome shaped casing. The kachori was smashed at the table and its contents mixed together combining the tangy crispy potatoes, lentils, chutneys and yogurt.

Next up was the tikka and kabab course, a choice of either spicy charred tandoori mushrooms or Makhmali Kastoori, a chicken kabab infused with green cardamom. The curry course offers two options served with sides of basmati rice, butter naan, roti and paratha. We enjoyed the reshmi lamb kofta curry accompanied by a rich rogan gravy and the more unusual baked saag burrata, which I can confirm was delicious.

Even though we were already full there’s always room for dessert. The sweet course was a baked gulab jamun cheesecake with a passion fruit coulis, a fusion of the traditional syrup soaked dough ball with cheesecake and a motichoor crumble base.

Namak celebrates the aromatic flavours of Indian food using traditional ingredients and cooking methods. Created by celebrity chef and restaurateur Kunal Kapur, the menu offers diners a modern take on classic dishes. Kapur is renowned in his native India not only for his cooking skills but also as a host of food related television shows like MasterChef India. Namak’s flavoursome cuisine is as bold as its decor, dishes are beautifully presented and the service is top notch. The restaurant month set menu is an ideal and affordable way to sample somewhere new or revisit an old favourite.

Dining & Nightlife Middle East Restaurant Month offers diners in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah the opportunity to enjoy affordable gourmet five-star dining at over twenty restaurants.
