Black Tap | Mamsha Al Saadiyat

Black Tap, the UAE’s leading New York craft beers and burger joint, announces the launch of its Abu Dhabi outlet.Black Tap

Burgers, beers and beach views are all on the menu at the new Black Tap at Mamsha Al Saadiyat. The hip burger joint, which originated in SoHo’s Broome Street in downtown New York, is the first licensed Black Tap in the capital and it’s now open for business. The menu is jam packed with their own unique loaded burgers, craft beers and famous, calorific CrazyShake’s.

Like all the other Black tap venues in the UAE, the large open plan restaurant has a flamboyant interior decorated in a combination of vibrant colours, graffiti covered walls, neon signs complimented by monochrome tiles and art. There’s also a large outdoor terrace that offers spectacular ocean views.

There’s no doubt craft burgers and beers is a popular combination, add in the shakes and it’s the perfect family dining experience. Alongside the wide range of burgers there’s also wings, tacos, fish and chips, fries, salads and sides. There’s also a dedicated kids menu for children aged nine and under. Beer lovers can choose from the wide selection of bottled craft beers and beers on tap as well as wine and craft cocktails.

I had The Vegan Burger, a black bean patty tipped with pickled red onions, salsa verde, cilantro and vegan mayo with a side of Idaho fries. My hungry dining partner opted for Black Tap Wings to start followed by The Old Fashioned, a prime burger with cremini mushroom, swiss cheese, caramelized onions and horseradish sauce with a side of sweet potato fries (fries are an additional charge). Vegetarians who like a synthetic meat patty can order the Impossible Burger which is made from simple, plant-based ingredients. New menu additions include pizza crazy fries, philly cheese steak fries and the spicy sriracha mac and cheese.

The instagrammable, extravagant towering CrazyShake’s have their own dedicated bar in this outlet. Sugar rush central, the popular treats are gravity defying piled high with cake, cookies, sweets and cream among the calorie rich ingredients. They are definitely a cheat day special and now Vegan’s can indulge too with the dairy-free Black N’ White CakeShake.  Eight varieties of regular milkshakes are also on offer plus fresh juices, mocktails, Jarritos (fruity Mexican sodas) and hot drinks are available too.

While people are queuing round the block to sample the crazy shakes in New York, here in Abu Dhabi we are fortunate to have the New York dining experience right on our doorstep. Black Tap is a good family-friendly casual restaurant and the new Mamsha location is first-rate. I predict the terrace will be very popular as soon as the weather lends itself to outdoor dining.
