‘FIVE has established itself as a young and vibrant lifestyle brand, known for luxury, parties and award-winning dining experiences. FIVE Jumeirah Village follows the same identity with a great lineup of entertainment and homegrown concepts.FIVE

Riding high on the wave of publicity and popularity of its first Palm Jumeirah location, FIVE opened its second property FIVE Jumeirah Village at the tail end of 2019. The iconic FIVE Palm Jumeirah’s party vibes have been translated into this chic city hotel. You may be forgiven for asking ‘What is this party hotel doing in this dusty residential locale?’ but its obvious popularity dismisses any curiosity about its urban location.

There’s no doubt it’s a cool, contemporary place that attracts a similar tribe that stay at its sister location on the Palm. Neon signs, plant filled walls, cool dining outlets, rooftop pools and pulsating beats pretty much sums up the circular tower that rises tall in the residential area of Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC). Hotel guests can enjoy double the fun with complimentary access to FIVE Palm Jumeirah’s outlets and beach via the self-titled ‘party shuttle-bus’ service.

The luxury five-star hotel offers 247 luxurious rooms and suites. There’s an additional 221 one and two bedroom and 33 four-bedroom apartments with a whooping 269 private pools all blessed with panoramic views across the vast city. The conceptual design has incorporated landscaped gardens and pools into each apartment design whatever their height, an architecture feat in itself.

All guests enjoy light filled spaces and skyline views regardless of room choice. Rooms feature freestanding bathtubs with floor-to-ceiling windows that offers guests a soak with an amazing vista. We stayed in a spacious superior king room, a stylish, modern room that offered a comfortable king size bed, free standing TV, private balcony and the aforementioned statement bathroom with cityscape views. Toiletries are provided by Dutch luxury beauty brand Rituals.

The two main food concepts are located on the fifth floor lobby level along with the two swimming pools. Soul Street, a colourful venue at the heart of the hotel offers a combination of street food, street art and upbeat tunes. The international menu showcases authentic cuisine inspired by global food markets. The restaurant has outdoor dining by the main pool for that extra ambiance and skyline views. There’s unlimited tacos all-day every Tuesday from 4pm for just AED 89, a daily happy hour from 4pm–7pm and Ladies Night every Wednesday 7pm–10pm.

Trattoria by Cinque brings the flavours of Italy to Dubai. Delicious homemade pasta, salads, pizzas and classic Italian fare with fines wines and cocktails. I can definitely recommend an alfresco dinner by the family pool for that real holiday feeling, both the savoury and sweet options were authentic and tasty.

Casual dining options can be found at the entrance lobby cafe, One For The Road. Coffee, pastries, cakes and savoury bites are available for dine-in or as a grab and go option. It’s a great spot for a quick breakfast, lunch or coffee with friends.

The hotel’s main social pool is a glamorous, party pool with disco balls, pool bar and plenty of loungers. If you are looking for a place to relax and read your book this is not the best option as the music is booming. On Friday’s it’s a popular day club with brunch and a live DJ and Saturdays are Rewind Ladies Day with 80’s and 90’s tunes, unlimited drinks by the pool and light bites from Soul Street.

Relax and rejuvenate at ReFIVE Spa with its body treatments, massages, and facials from luxury skin care brand Natura Bissé. InstaBody, FIVE’s state-of- the-art gym gives guests the opportunity to workout in style. Children up to the age of 12 are welcomed at the High Five Kids Club while those beach lovers can take the complimentary shuttle bus to FIVE Palm Jumeirah’s famed private beach.

The hotel has implemented COVID-19 safety measures to ensure the safety of guests with temperature checks, sanitising of room keys and requirements that masks are worn in all public areas including the elevators.

While it may be seen as a party hotspot, Five Jumeirah Village also attracts residents and visitors looking for a staycation. Families are welcomed with child friendly facilities such as the family pool, kids club and dedicated menus. Culinary options are good, the service is attentive and overall it was an enjoyable experience.
