Dining-in is the new (enforced) going out to eat. So if you’ve already cooked all your favourite dishes (me), dusted off the cook books to try a few new recipes (me again) and ordered your usual takeaway (also me) it’s now time to try out some new delivery options. Craving that certain delectable dish from your favourite restaurant? Not only is ordering in something to look forward to, it also helps restaurants and local businesses thrive in this difficult time. Here’s a few ideas of some establishments who are offering new takeaway/delivery services.

LOCAL – Missing your favourite caffeinated beverage? LOCAL, the popular specialty coffee shop located in Al Zeina, is offering curbside collection and home delivery within the Zeina community. Drinks, sandwiches and sweet treats such as the Wake’n Bake donuts, cinnamon buns, brownies and banana bread are available daily from 8am – 7pm. Various drinks and food combo deals to keep you fueled while working from home are also available for delivery, with options such as coffee with a pastry or panini. Coffee brewing kits can be purchased so you can brew your own LOCAL barista style coffee at home.

Nectar Juice Bar – Missing your usual juice, smoothie and nutritious bites from Nectar? The delivery menu includes such delights as Acai bowls, healthy waffles and snickers as well as oatmeal with superfood granola and kale chips. Stay energized and healthy with a delivery from my favourite juice bar, you even get the bonus of a free ginger lemon shot with your first order.

Tamba Restaurant – Spice up your self-isolation with some delicious Indian inspired cuisine from Tamba. Signature favourites such as biryani, chicken tikka masala, slow cooked lamb shank and tiger prawns can be ordered accompanied by various flavours of naans and beverages.

The Chippy – Good old fashioned fish and chips is on the menu at The Chippy located in Reem Island. Fresh battered cod, haddock, scampi, proper chips and curry sauce are offered along with many other fish and chip shop favourites.
