“Celebrate your style at Aloft Palm Jumeirah, a hip new resort on the stunning Palm Jumeirah archipelago.” Aloft
Like the Aloft hotels I have previously visited in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, the Aloft Palm Jumeirah is a modern colourful hotel with innovative design and cutting edge technology. This particular hotel has a prime location on the Eastern crescent of Palm Jumeirah offering guests sea and skyline views at the front of the hotel and views across the Palm itself from its nearby small beach area.
This mid-level hotel, which now falls under the Marriott banner, is a boutique style property with 206 guest rooms of numerous sizes and different views. The rooms are all furnished with Aloft signature plush platform beds, our fifth floor sea view room was stylish yet compact with a small balcony overlooking the Burj Al Arab and Dubai cityscape. The small bathroom benefitted from a walk-in rainfall shower and vanity area with complimentary Bliss products. Marriott platinum members can benefit from free room upgrades and breakfast, late check-out until 4pm and free drink vouchers to use in any of the bars.
The hotel has four dining options. The all-day dining East & Seaboard Eatery and Lounge that’s adjacent to the pool is open daily from 7am – 11pm serving buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner. A nice spot with outdoor tables for an alfresco breakfast although the options were quite limited.
We enjoyed sundowners and later in the evening dinner and drinks at Luchador, the eleventh floor Mexican Cantina and outdoor rooftop bar. This vibrant restaurant offers authentic cuisine and decor complete with sombreros, colourful wrestling masks and wall art, expect lots of tequila and entertainment from the live band. It’s a great venue and definitely the hotel’s best feature with a relatively small menu offering a selection of classic dishes including tacos and ceviche. The vibrant bar with it’s outdoor roof terrace is the perfect place to watch the sun setting over the Arabian Sea and Dubai’s iconic skyline with a cocktail in hand.
The brand’s signature W XYZ Bar is located on the ground floor, a casual place to drink and enjoy signature cocktails accompanied by mood music. The ‘grab and go’ re:fuel by Aloft is the self-serve cafe area that’s open 24/7 for drinks and snacks. Facilities wise there’s an outdoor pool with plenty of sun loungers and cabanas with the Splash pool bar that serves a variety of drinks and bar snacks until 11:00pm. There’s a separate heated children’s pool and just a short stroll from the hotel is No’Shu Beach club. If you are feeling energetic there’s the re:charge gym the 24-hour fully equipped fitness centre and those who enjoy a game of pool can play in re:mix, the lobby recreation area. Some colourful bikes are available for cycling along the palm. Re:charge Spa has two treatment rooms offering scrubs, massages and fitness classes.
If you are looking for a hip and trendy place to stay on Palm Jumeirah without the hefty resort price tag this hotel is ideal and affordable. As the hotel is sandwiched between two of the Palm’s large resorts, the Anantara and the Rixos, guests can take a stroll to the variety of restaurants and bars in the local vicinity. Modern amenities, pool and beach access as well as the Mexican restaurant make the Aloft Palm Jumeirah a well located venue for short stays and staycations.
