In Pictures | A Postcard From South Africa

Let Freedom ReignNelson Mandela

South Africa is a land of diversity that offers any traveller an experience of a lifetime. Dramatic landscapes, beautiful beaches, safaris, amazing food and wine and of course an abundance of history and controversy. Cape Town offers so much in itself; start the day with breakfast at the waterfront, ascend the iconic Table Mountain, spot a whale, visit a penguin colony, hike to Cape Point and relax with a sundowner in Camps Bay, all this and more is possible in a single day in the Mother City.

This was our second trip to South Africa, the first time was sixteen years ago with three young children in tow so it was exciting to be re-visiting again after nearly two decades with some friends. An indulgnent three week holiday that started with a week in Cape Town and then ventured along the Garden Route on a massive road trip through the Western and Eastern Capes before relaxing with a glass or two in the beautiful wine estates in Franschhoek. So many highlights and firsts (some amazing, some never to be repeated), so many memories made, so many miles travelled and bottles of wine consumed. Here’s a first look at our trip in pictures…
