If you are looking for a first-class spa experience then look no further than the exquisite Emirates Palace Spa, winner of the 2016 World’s Best Hotel Spa award. I have been fortunate to experience many different treatments on my travels all over the world but I can unequivocally declare that the couples massage at the Emirate Palace was quite like no other.

The luxurious spa has a certain kind of old world glamour, an elegant space that reflects its location within the iconic Emirates Palace Hotel. Each of the different areas embraces elements of sumptuous Arabic design with intricate patterned tiles and colourful rugs, Moorish arches, traditional lanterns, lattice work and opulent golden touches. The unprecedented level of service began as soon as we arrived at the reception area and continued until the minute we left. The welcome was warm and friendly yet professional in every sense of the word.

The Experience ~ We were treated to this royally indulgent experience in the privacy of a couple’s suite as part of our anniversary stay at the Emirates Palace and it was truly memorable. In a first for both of us the pampering began with a candlelit milk bath strewn with hundreds of fragrant rose petals, the huge bathtub transformed into the ultimate romantic indulgence that would definitely have gained Cleopatra’s seal of approval. The milk proteins in the bath are enriched with vitamins and minerals that all work together to hydrate, brighten and soften the skin leaving it silky smooth.

As instructed by our therapists we showered off the milky reside in preparation for our side-by-side hour long signature massages. Our skillful therapists, Salisa and Na were incredible and the massages using spice oil with black pepper and ginger were so relaxing, helping to restore our balance and energy flows. We were both equally impressed with our individual treatments and struggled to find the momentum to actually get up to leave as we were just so relaxed.

The results ~ We both felt fully relaxed and thoroughly spoilt. The milk bath was something completely new to us and made our skin feel incredible. We were impressed with our massages, both our therapists were very skillful and tailored our treatments to our individual requirements in terms of pressure and specific areas to focus on and those to avoid.

Pros ~ An all round fabulous experience.

Cons ~ The treatments are not cheap but you certainly get an amazing experience like no other (check out the summer promotions at the bottom of this post)

The large multi award-winning Emirates Palace Spa offers an extensive menu of signature treatments for both men and women including the unique 24 Carat Gold-Inspired Treatment. Alongside individuals massages and facials, there are a variety of couples treatments that are designed to share with a loved one, perfect as a birthday gift or intimate anniversary treat for that special someone in your life. There’s also a traditional Moroccan Hammam, two Jacuzzis, steam rooms and even an ice cave.

There are five couples suites available, three spacious double spa suites with bathtubs, steam showers and grooming area as well as two double spa rooms without the bath option. The ultimate pampering package is the two hour Royal Couple’s Hammam, an Arabian luxury treatment that starts with the traditional black olive soap cleanse, kassa exfoliation and the ghassoul body wrap. The journey is completed with a rich Shea Butter application to hydrate and protect the skin, use of the ice cave and jacuzzi is also included in this exclusive experience. Complimentary skin and body analysis is also available to all guests alongside renewal facials, hair loss treatments, cool shaping, fat reduction and cellulite treatments as well as Just for Men packages.
