In Pictures | A Postcard From The Seychelles

Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.” Unknown

With a year round tropical climate, turquoise clear waters, pristine deserted beaches and lush greenery, the Seychelles is quite simply paradise found just a few hours flight from the UAE. A destination perfectly suited to the luxury traveller whether honeymooning, celebrating a special occasion or treating the family to an idyllic beach holiday.

If you are a beach lover this archipelago will tick every box with strip after strip of white sandy coves lined with palm trees and huge slabs of granite, snorkelers and divers will love exploring the coral reefs and azure bluewaters of the Indian Ocean. Island hopping by boat to explore the smaller islands is a must do, cycling on La Digue, where we encountered the Aldabra giant tortoises and visited the alleged most photographed beach in the world, was a trip highlight for me (not so much the bumpy sea-crossing to get there).

Exploring is easy with the man-made Eden Island giving you a glimpse into luxury villa stays, the UNESCO site Vallee de Mai on Praslin where you can see the unique Coco de Mer and the black parrots, don’t forget a glimpse into the island’s British Heritage in the capital Victoria and no visit would be complete without a visit to the Takamaka Rum Distillery. Mahé maybe the largest island but it’s easily accessible by car so we hired a little jeep and explored the whole island in a day stopping off at picturesque beaches, visiting different resorts and driving up and down winding mountain roads. The other half even had a little solo hike to Anse Major, a walk through the vegetation to a secluded beach.

We stayed in the north west of Mahé in the popular Beau Vallon area at The H Resort, a modern hotel with collection of villas and suites located right on the beach. With seven bars and restaurants, swimming pools, watersports, volleyball, table tennis, tennis court, gym, beach yoga and pilates and the beautiful Sesel Spa there’s plenty to keep even the most active guest entertained.

The Seychelles is most certainly an exceptional holiday destination, a tranquil and charming island that offers a variety of accommodation for every budget from 5* luxury to local Creole guest houses. Mother Nature has certainly blessed these islands with jaw-dropping natural beauty and if you looking for a picture postcard spot this is the place for you.  Here’s a first look at our trip in pictures 😉
