Just as other venues are battening down the hatches, ramping up the air-conditioning and shutting outdoor spaces to avoid the intense summer heat and humidity, the Yas Viceroy Hotel has taken the bold decision to launch Summer at Skylite for the first time, keeping the rooftop bar open all summer long! Yes you read that right, this trendy rooftop bar and lounge is going to be open all summer long!

The other half and I were invited to attend the stylish launch party to celebrate the start of the Skylite summer season with tunes from resident DJ Marc Betta, drinks, bar bites, stunning views across Yas Marina, the F1 track and Yas Island with the temperature kept cool by giant air chillers. This seriously cool bar oozes wow factor and it’s always a must do for any of our visitors, it never fails to impress especially for sundowners at sunset.

Tucked away at the top of this architecturally beautiful hotel under a canopy of colour changing panels, the bar has a great ambiance with low sofas and booths and a stunning bright blue well-stocked bar. Multi-lingual Betta who originates from the Seychelles has been a DJ at exotic locations all over the world as well as various nightspots around the capital and can now be found spinning the best of Lounge, Chill Out and House music every night at Skylite.

Your summer just got cooler in more ways than one! My advice would be get a table near one of the big coolers so it’s bearable, sit back and enjoy a signature cocktail, some shisha and Betta’s chilled out tunes in this popular designer spot.
