Beautification From Tip To Toe | Yas Mall

I have received some very exciting e-mails into the anexpatabroad mail box lately and a particular invitation caught my attention, the opportunity to try out some treatments at the opening of the new Tips & Toes Nail Haven in Yas Mall. My inner (deeply buried) goddess was doing the Mexican wave, no stranger to beautification (needs must people) I’m a regular in their Khalifa City salon so I was super excited to try out their newest location.

Then an updated e-mailed came through with the guest spa menu and my heart skipped another beat, I was being invited to try not one, not even two but three treatments from an extensive list of combinations, woo hoo! As an already loyal client for over four years, road testing the latest spa haven was a fantastic opportunity to venture out of my comfort zone and alongside my usual gellish mani pedi I opted for a set of eyelash extensions, fancy eh 😉

Located on the lower ground floor of the capital’s latest shopping destination Yas Mall, Tips and Toes offers clients an array of its award winning and renowned services and packages in an intimate setting, that includes manicures, pedicures. massages, facials, skin care, waxing and all things eyebrows and lashes. After a hearty welcome, I was shown to my beautification station and the two-hour maintenance session began with my three friendly therapists Evangeline, Annie and Daisy, but not before some more lovely ladies appeared with gourmet savoury rolls, sweet treats and coffee, now that I could get used to on my monthly visits!

Even though there was an entire wall of Tito nail and gellish polishes in a rainbow of colours, I selected one of my all time favourites, a classic ‘Some Like it Hot‘ red and the ladies got to work on my feet and hands. Daisy (my eyelash therapist) talked me through the process which included selecting the right size individual eyelashes that were to be applied one at a time, which I found a little surprising based on my previous experience with cheap sets of stick on full lashes (never been successful at that anyway).

Reclined to a flat position she got to work too while I tried to relax and not kick Annie in the face as she tackled my ticklish feet with a foot file (sorry TMI). The time went quickly until I got a little stir crazy laying down with my eyes shut while the hustle and bustle of other guests went on around me and I was finally returned to my seated position for the final part of my manicure with Evangeline, a lovely relaxing hand massage. I had a quick nosey around the rest of the salon and discovered an array of massage, facial and waxing rooms tucked away off a corridor adjacent to the nail spa, which all looked very inviting.

Tips and Toes was established in Sharjah back in 2005 and has steadily grown to a now impressive eighteen branches including Nail Havens, Day and Signature Spas and a Deluxe Villa located across five emirates. An in-house training academy was launched in 2012 to ensure the ongoing education of its staff, quality of treatments and customer service, all of which has earned the salon empire a clutch of awards in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Alongside the new Yas Mall and Khailfa City branches here in the capital, there are two additional salons in Marina Mall and one located on Khaleej Al Arabi Street (30th).

Overall, I was very impressed with the new salon, which although smaller than other branches has the same branded rich red, purple and gold decor which gave it a sense of familiarity. The staff were friendly and accommodating which I’ve come to expect from Tips and Toes, the treatments were of the usual high quality and the salon is in a very convenient location in the mall. I really liked my eyelashes even though they felt strange at first but I’m not sure about their staying power as many have fallen off but that is probably due to my aftercare or rather the lack of it!

As if those fabulous treatments were not enough, I was also presented with a gift bag that contained six fresh ‘Fleur’ hue polishes from the Tips and Toes new range and a sample sized Glamglow Powdermud cleanse treatment, how absolutely delightful 😉 During March, Tips and Toes are offering ladies a chance to celebrate Mother’s Day with an ultra-pampering session for two that includes four luxurious signature services each.
